At the age of 24, Andrés decided to take a significant step: he bought his own estate. With his new space, the passion and knowledge he had accumulated over the years found a perfect place to flourish. Andrés didn’t just build a farm; he created a legacy. He dedicated himself to refining his skills by attending trainings and meetings with the National Federation of Coffee Growers and the Nariño Committee, absorbing every piece of advice and technique that helped him improve.
The success of the estate is not only due to Andrés but also to his family. His wife, Rosalba Elina Matabanchoy, is the heart that keeps the rhythm of the estate during the harvest season. While Andrés and their five children work in the fields, Rosalba prepares food for the workers and participates in the coffee harvest, ensuring that everyone feels valued and well-fed.
Leidy, Jair, Darío, Ansisar, and Alexandra, Andrés and Rosalba’s children, are not mere spectators in this story; they are active protagonists. With their strong hands and dedicated hearts, they help with soil tilling and every step of the harvest. Each has found their place on the estate, from planting to harvesting, and knowledge is passed down from generation to generation.
The “Los Castañeda” estate is more than a business; it is a family unit where each member plays an essential role. It is a place where teamwork and love for coffee are reflected in every cup that reaches consumers. The Castañedas have demonstrated that when a family works together towards a common goal, they not only grow coffee but also a legacy of unity and passion that endures.
