Jenny Margoth Chavez Chimachana was born in the municipality of Buesaco, Nariño, into a family with a deep-rooted tradition in coffee cultivation. Her grandparents were federated coffee growers and leaders, and her parents continue this legacy. This background allowed Jenny to be actively involved in coffee farming from a very young age. Recognizing her interest and dedication, her father allocated a plot of land on the family estate to her about 15 years ago. Under her leadership, Jenny has developed a sustainable and environmentally friendly coffee cultivation practice on her farm, El Chilcal. This commitment has earned her farm certifications from NESPRESSO and 4C and has integrated it into the Federation of Coffee Growers' program Gestión Empresarial, Plan 2000, which supports 2,000 farms. Jenny’s family currently includes her husband, Edwar Ramirez, and their 4-year-old son, Matías. They are supported by her parents, Mauro Lucas Chaves Gomez and Aura Adela Chimachana Granda, as well as her brothers, Mario Fernando and Lucas Sebastián. Her family is deeply involved in the daily operations of the farm, assisting with cultivation and post-harvest processes. Jenny Margoth's vision is to continue expanding her production of sustainable coffees and to establish a strong presence in the specialty coffee market. She aims to maintain environmentally friendly pre-harvest and post-harvest practices, focusing on natural resource conservation to enhance the quality of life for her family and the local coffee-growing community.
