My name is Juan Carlos Camacho Martinez, and I am a third-generation coffee producer. I started my journey in coffee cultivation at the age of fifteen, embarking on a long learning process with the support of various institutions, particularly the extension service, which provides us with ongoing guidance. My brother, Camilo Andrés, has also been a great help, assisting me with trials to achieve excellent cup quality through the processes we implement on our farm.
Together with my parents and children, we handle all tasks, from preparing the land to harvesting the dry parchment coffee. We face challenges, especially accessing our farm due to steep terrain, requiring us to transport loads multiple times by mule or on our shoulders.
My medium- and long-term vision is to strengthen solid relationships for grain marketing and achieve better income, enabling greater modernization of my coffee cultivation. I aim to invest in technology to improve processing and marketing, develop my own brand to establish a presence in the market, and implement sustainable agricultural practices that protect the environment and ensure the long-term viability of coffee cultivation. Through these efforts, I hope to create a thriving future for my family and our coffee legacy.
