My life has been deeply rooted in coffee cultivation, a legacy inherited from my parents. I have been married to Luis Manuel Melo Jaimes for 22 years, and together we have two children: Karen Juliana and MarÃa José. Upon marriage, I moved to my husband’s family farm, La Meseta, where the coffee crops initially included Typica, Caturra, and Colombia varieties.
Over time, we began to renew our aging coffee fields with improved varieties. With the support of my husband, I established my own coffee area, which I named La Perla. Today, I manage La Perla with great pride, treating it as a business enterprise.
As an empowered female coffee grower, I am actively involved in the municipal committee. My mission is to continue empowering more coffee growers in our municipality, focusing on meeting market demands for high-quality coffee at better prices. Through this effort, I aim to elevate our local coffee industry and ensure that our community thrives in a competitive market.
