For a lifetime, I had been a coffee producer in my hometown of Urrao, Antioquia, where the mountains cradled the rich traditions of coffee cultivation. But in 2005, violence erupted in my community, forcing me to leave everything behind. It was during this turbulent time that I discovered the world of specialty coffee—a realm where I could apply my knowledge in computer science, electronics, mechanics, microbiology, and electricity.
Determined to create a new path, I immersed myself in research and the pursuit of knowledge about this promising form of coffee cultivation. I learned that specialty coffee could offer not just quality, but a story—a connection to the land and the people behind it.
Finally, in 2017, I achieved a long-held dream: I acquired my first farm, which I named Granja ParaÃso92. With the unwavering support of my family and friends, we dedicated ourselves to cultivating exceptional coffee. Through hard work and a commitment to excellence, we positioned Granja ParaÃso92 in the international market, earning recognition as one of Colombia’s most important coffee producers.
Today, I look back on my journey with pride. Each cup of coffee from my farm tells a story of resilience, passion, and hope—a testament to the beauty that can arise from adversity.
