| Cupping Notes: | In 2005, Norberto Noreña arrived in the Tolima department with his wife, Vianey Saavedra, with the dream of building an agricultural farm. Thus, Los Naranjos was born, located in the Altosano village, Gaitania, a region blessed with its climate, fertile soils, and mountainous landscapes ideal for cultivation. The first years were dedicated to growing beans, but approximately 10 years ago, Norberto made the decision to enter the world of coffee with the goal of producing high-quality beans. Since then, he has researched and applied advanced techniques to develop differentiated processes in the production of specialty coffees. One of his greatest achievements was the introduction of the Geisha coffee, a variety recognized worldwide for its exceptional sensory profile. With this coffee, Norberto decided to participate in competitions, consolidating his commitment to excellence. In 2024, his effort and dedication were recognized when his coffee was selected and auctioned at the 9th National Quality Competition: Colombia Tierra de Diversidad, a milestone that confirms his passion for quality. He also participated in the specialty coffee competition at the Tolima Corazón Cafetero de Colombia International Fair, where, although he didn’t secure first place, he had the opportunity to exchange knowledge with other passionate producers. Currently, he continues his pursuit of excellence, participating in the 10th National Quality Competition, with the conviction of continuing to perfect his coffee and positioning it among the best in the country. |
