"I was born on March 22, 1958, and I am a third-generation coffee grower. I found my calling in coffee at the age of 30, when I started my own crops with the Caturra Amarillo variety. Over time, my interest in innovation and learning led me to venture into specialty coffees, planting my first Geisha lot in 2014.
At that time, I was part of the municipal council, which allowed me to strengthen my knowledge of the coffee-growing sector and the opportunities for improvement in production. My first farm, Buenos Aires, was located in the La Gallera neighborhood, in the Uribe sector, in the municipality of Rioblanco. Over time, I decided to expand my Geisha crop to the El Mirador farm, in the Las Mercedes neighborhood, in the Herrera district, a property of my wife, Isabel Gutiérrez.
Thanks to my dedication, my coffee has achieved significant recognition. I have participated twice in the Taza de la Excelencia, placing fourth and seventh with the Buenos Aires farm. Additionally, at the International Coffee Fair Tolima Corazón Cafetero, my coffee from the El Mirador farm reached tenth place, establishing me as a reference in the production of specialty coffees."
